About Rev. Monica
I began officiating at weddings in 2009, and enjoyed performing ceremonies in garden settings and at hotels in northern California before returning to my home state of Michigan in August of 2010.
My experience is quite diverse, including work as a massage therapist, writer, and teacher. I earned a BA in English from UCLA and later returned to Eastern Michigan University for a master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). This education has been helpful in my work as an officiant, as I have written ceremonies for many couples who come from different language and cultural backgrounds. I enjoy the ritual of weddings and the magic that results when two individuals come together to declare their love for each other. I consider it an honor to play a role in these joyful celebrations.
In addition to my work as an officiant, I work with older adults and their families to help them find the resources they need for the best possible quality of life. It is my sincere desire to contribute to the peace and happiness of every individual that I have the privilege to serve.
